Biographical and Administrative History
Donated to LCMSDS by military historian Hugh Halliday in 2015, the Ottawa Valley Regiment Fonds contain material from before Canada’s Confederation in 1867. Over the last several decades, Mr. Halliday has been collecting scanned documents pertaining to the history of the Ottawa Valley Regiment and its role in early British North America.

Scope and Content
The Ottawa Valley Regiment Fonds contain material relating to the Ottawa Valley Regiment from the second half of the 18th century up until the late 20th century. The documents include copies of Militia General Orders from the late 1700s to the mid-1800s, officer lists, regimental returns, general correspondence and memorandum reports, maps, and newspaper and gazette excerpts.
