Series Content
The 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade was an independent armoured brigade that landed in France with the Allied Forces on D-Day (6 June 1944). An independent armoured brigade was composed of 3 armoured regiments, meant for providing support to any infantry units when needed, although in Normandy these brigades were also required to work with other armoured units. This series contains the June, July and August war diaries for the brigade and its regiments.
War Diaries missing from our online collection may be viewed on Library and Archives Canada’s sister site, Héritage. Their collection is organized by LAC reel numbers. To determine which reel a particular unit’s diaries are on, follow LAC’s instructions here.
