About the Archive

Our Mandate

The purpose of the Laurier Military History (LMH) Archive is to acquire, preserve, and make available documents relating to the Canadian and international experience of military conflict. We strive to acquire and preserve material both digitally and physically. We hope to reach out and engage historical sources from both the local community that we are so fortunate to reside in and greater Canada with its rich and diverse history.

Our Location

The Laurier Military History Archive is part of the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada (LCSC) at Wilfrid Laurier University. The Centre is located on Wilfrid Laurier University’s main campus at 232 King St. N., Waterloo, Ontario.  Along with the LMH Archive, LCSC also houses the Robert Vogel Library, which features an extensive collection of literature on military history, international relations, and the social and cultural history of modern war.

Business Hours

The Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada is open Monday to Friday, not including statutory holidays. For visiting the archives, we encourage visitors to contact us and set up a appointment for viewing material.
